What does my child need?
* Shin guards (mandatory for practicing or playing games)
* Shoes with traction (e.g. - soccer shoes)
* Appropriately-sized ball (See table on Registration Page)
* Plenty of water
What does my registration fee cover?
- Team uniform (shirt, shorts, socks)
- Player insurance
- Field equipment for games (nets, field paint, Port-a-Potty rental, team balls, field use
fees, etc.)
- Other league incidental expenses (volunteer training, mailing & office supply
expenses, etc.)
What's the difference between Fall and Spring seasons?
Teams are completely reformed for each season. Spring teams are typically co-ed due to
smaller numbers of registered players. Fall teams may be coed for the younger (U5/U6) and
older (U14) age divisions if numbers do not permit for male/female teams. Each season
consists of 8 games (8 weeks of games). Our Fall season usually starts the weekend after
Labor Day; the spring season usually starts in late March.
When and where are practices?
Practices typically start 2 weeks before the first game (10 weeks of practice). Practices are
held once a week on a weekday for all divisions except U5/U6. The coach of each team
decides when and where the practices will be held. U5/U6 players practice together on
Saturday mornings before their games. Typical practice locations are:
- Mountain View Elementary (between Edgewood & Moriarty, on Route 66)
- Edgewood Elementary (north of I40, on Dinkle Rd)
- Los Vecinos Community Center (just west of Tijeras stoplight on Route 66)
- Roosevelt Middle School (South of Los Vecinos CC)
- Vista Grande Community Center (off La Madera Rd, just off of N.14, north of Frost)
- San Antonito Elementary (off La Madera Rd, just off of N.14, north of Frost)
When and where are games?
Games are on Saturdays. Game locations vary from season to season, but are usually at
one or more of the following locations (depending on conditions):
- Mountain View Elementary (between Edgewood & Moriarty, on Route 66)
- Edgewood Elementary (north of I40, on Dinkle Rd)
- Los Vecinos Community Center (just west of Tijeras stoplight on Route 66)
- Vista Grande Community Center (off La Madera Rd, just off of N.14, north of Frost
Road)
In addition to the Fall & Spring recreational seasons, East Mountain AYSO also supports
EXTRA, Challenge and Advanced Competition teams. See the Programs page for details.

Note 1)
All fields for U5 – U12 are sized age-appropriately. For U5 and U6, see also Note 6 below.
Note 2)
Sometimes, the older kids will have smaller teams due to a lack of registration. We are a small
league and prefer to offer the kids short-sided games than none at all.
Note 3)
Coaches may request more players than the Roster Limit under special circumstances; however,
every player must get a minimum of 1/2 game.
Note 4)
(N) = neutral. For U-11 and higher, certification levels (Intermediate, Advanced, etc.) are desired,
but by no means mandatory. Any referee certified at the Regional level or higher may do
matches at any division that they are comfortable with, including U-14 and U-19.
Note 5)
Core teams may only practice Monday through Friday; no weekend practices are allowed. Older
core teams may practice twice a week as space allows.
Note 6)
35 minutes before each game is a regular practice time. Coaches have prepared activities in skill
development. Do not skip this practice time.
