Attention Everyone:
Advanced Competition Teams (ACT) and Challenge Teams
Competitive Soccer with AYSO Philosophy
AYSO Region 671 (East Mountain) offers an alternative to club team soccer for accomplished players who want to increase their skills, share their passion of soccer with similar-minded players, and play with and against more intense competition. The Select Teams (ACT and Challenge Teams) range from U10 through U15 who play in the Duke City Metro Schedule against "club teams" and/or Albuquerque AYSO recreational league teams. AYSO players are selected for the teams through tryouts. They typically practice once or twice a week.
- “Challenge Teams” play against teams in the Duke City Metro League (Duke City Soccer League, Northwest Rio Grande, and other Club Teams) in both the fall and spring seasons.
- “Advanced Competition Teams” (ACT) that will be involved in “Inter-league” play within Albuquerque’s AYSO Region 104 recreational league, and play both fall and spring.
- ACT and Challenge teams both play in tournaments in town, throughout New Mexico, and sometimes out of state.
Unlike club teams, the Select Teams Program operates under the AYSO philosophy.
- Everyone Plays: Players who are selected for the team get to play at least half of each game; teams don’t have "starters" and "benchers."
- Balanced Teams: We strive to ensure the teams we field are competitive.
- Open Registration: Players are selected for the teams based on objective analysis of their ability by AYSO Certified Coaches.
- Positive Coaching: Select Teams are coached adhere to the AYSO coaching philosophy.
- Good Sportsmanship: Competition Teams represent AYSO and practice and play exhibiting the same great sportsmanship you find in the rest of the region.
If you want to increase your level of play and you are a dedicated player, tryout for a ACT or Challenge Team. For more information, look at the links below or contact the Team coach listed for your age group.
